Job descriptionDeliver intensive care to critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU Participate in a 24-hour in-house Neonatologist rotation schedule Use advanced neonatal therapies : HFOV, HFJV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia Collaborate with pediatric surgery and cardiology specialists Coordinate with nurse-led neonatal transport team Contribute to quality improvement, safety, and clinical research initiatives No newborn nursery coverage required Shift Type : 24-Hour In-House Coverage Includes weekends as part of rotational schedule No on-call requirements (in-house presence always) Proficiency in neonatal intensive care and advanced therapies Strong collaboration and communication within multidisciplinary teams Family-centered care approach Experience with QI and research participation Board Certified / Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (within 5 years) – Required Board Certified in Pediatrics – Required Virginia medical license or eligibility – Required Clean malpractice and license history – Highly Preferred Choose assignments based on your preferred locations, accommodating personal preferences or opportunities for family visits and exploration. - A leading Richmond-based hospital is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join a collaborative and innovative team providing 24 / 7 in-house coverage in a modern 40-bed Level III NICU. This is a full-time permanent position focused exclusively on NICU care, in a family-centered single-room care environment.
