About The Position

Job Title : Physical Therapy Assistant

License : Current license from the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapy Assistant or eligibility to sit for state license.

Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Must-Have : Associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant

Description :

Under direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, carries out treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist in accordance with physician orders.

Provides supervised treatments indicated by the Physical Therapist, using modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot or cold packs.

Assists with patient transfers, exercises, walking, and other activities.

Provides input to the therapist concerning the effectiveness of treatments and necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.

Documents progress in the patient chart, co-signed by a licensed Physical Therapist.

Administers motorized traction to relieve neck and back pain.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment, and procedures used in physical therapy is required.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment and development.

Ability to prioritize work is necessary.

Knowledge of computers is also required.
