Director of Development

POSITION SUMMARY : Chester Community Coalition (CCC), a project of Urban Affairs Coalition, works to heal the psychological impact of homicide and assault and reduce trauma-related reactive violence in the City of Chester. The Director of Development works with CCC's Advisory Board and Development Committee to plan, organize, and implement CCC's fundraising, including grant-writing, annual fund, special events, donor engagement, and public relations, including social media and quarterly newsletter. The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Development Committee and Advisory Board in all development and fundraising endeavors.

Specific Responsibilities

• Resource and Fundraising Development

Develop, review, revise, and execute the organization's fundraising strategy, setting both short and long-term goals.

Create actionable strategies to identify, pursue, and expand your revenue base.

Establish and maintain a major donor pipeline, collaborating with the executive on major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Build, nurture, and expand relationships with institutional and corporate funders.

Track revenue and fundraising trends, using the information to predict future opportunities and mitigate downturns.

Promote a culture of evaluation to advance fundraising activities by measuring and reporting the agency's impact.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and funders, keeping them informed of the organization's achievements and the impact of their contributions.

Foster a culture of philanthropy across all departments to ensure fundraising success.

Prepare the Executive Director and senior leadership staff for meetings with donors and funders.

Cultivate a positive, open, and collaborative relationship with the board and its Development Committee.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize board engagement, including encouraging board member contributions and leveraging their networks for solicitations.

Demonstrated expertise in key areas of revenue development, including foundations, corporate giving programs, corporate sponsorships, annual fund donors, major donors, and public sector support.

Strong supervisory or management experience.

Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse external stakeholders, including nonprofits, institutional funders, and public sector decision makers.

Experience working with diverse populations, fostering relationships, trust, and credibility.

Deep appreciation for the mission of serving survivors of gun violence. Knowledge of gun violence issues is a plus, but not essential.

Compensation, Benefits, and Flexibility :

Compensation will range from $75,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. CCC is open to discussing flexible work arrangements, such as a 3-2 hybrid work schedule.

Reports to : Executive Director Time Commitment : Full-Time

Location : Hybrid (Pennsylvania, with a concentration of work in the Delaware County region) Service Area : Pennsylvania, with a focus on the Delaware County region.
