The EEG Technologist is responsible for the following :
- Procedure Prep : Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
- Obtains medical history from patient / families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g. physical / mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure).
- Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols.
- Documents history in the technologist report.
- Procedures : Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols.
- Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data.
- Prepares and adjusts recording equipment as needed.
- Safety : Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.
- Administration : Accurately and thoroughly Completes documents, forms, and reports.
- Supplies and Equipment : Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
- Department Operations : Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.
- Continuing Education : Participates in conferences and technical meetings on a local, regional, and national basis.
The EEG Technologist must have the following :
- 1 year of experience as an EEG Technologist
- High School diploma or GED
