POSITION SUMMARY :

This is an advanced professional position that is responsible for the Adult Emergency Crisis Stabilization program's daily operation, direct service staff supervision, training, and consultation.

Oversees care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Behavioral Health Technicians. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new staff.

Participates as a contributing member of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participates in Quality Improvement activities and program reporting as assigned.

Reports to and functions under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Nurse Manager and / or Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree from an NLN-approved program with 2 years of nursing experience and one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, families, employees, and the public.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to multi-task, display decision-making, critical thinking, and basic computer skills.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

  • Provides direct supervision for the nursing and behavioral healthcare staff and ensures training compliance. Supervises and / or coordinates direct service delivery per program requirements.
  • Completes Gracepoint required documentation in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to program monitoring and quality reports.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with internal and external programs and agencies.
  • Attends agency-wide, division, and program meetings, seminars, conferences, and workshops to maintain and enhance essential skills and knowledge.
  • Interviews / hires prospective employees and orients them to the program.
  • May be asked to assume administrative and supervisory duties in the Nurse Manager or Program Manager’s absence.
  • Performs other duties that are a similar, related, or logical assignment to the job.
  • Provides direct care as needed.
  • Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
  • Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
  • Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurate.
  • Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, the public.
  • Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.
  • Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.
  • Maintains and exhibits servant leadership qualities and exceeds customers’ expectations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress.

Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.

  • Effective, efficient use of agency resources, systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Continuous focus on cost savings initiatives across the responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Effective use of time management to avoid overtime and budgetary issues.
