Premier Medical Staffing Services is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Employment Type : Travel
  • Evening / Night, 8 / 12 hr shifts, 1900-0730, with every other weekend, some holiday
  • Must have experience in ICP or ventric
  • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years
  • EPIC experience required
  • Must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state
  • BLS / ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
  • Must have Basic Arrhythmia experience
  • Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location
  • Floating - Travelers are the first
  • Travel Experience Required : Yes
  • First Time travelers accepted in some units
  • License must be in hand at submittal
  • Weekend Coverage : True

ADDITIONAL DETAILS :

  • Patient Ratios Days : 2
  • Patient Ratios Nights : 2
  • Patient Ratios Weekends : 2
  • Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start
  • Flu Vaccine : Required - Medical / Religious Exemptions Only
  • Pass / Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria for telemetry exam
  • Adult Exam requirements :

    • 100% identification of lethal rhythms

  • No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
  • Passing score of 80% or higher
  • Pediatric Exam requirements :

    • Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia

  • Passing score of 80% or higher
  • Local Rule : locals are not accepted

  • Number of Beds : 18
  • Patient Age Groups : Adults, Geriatrics
  • 18-bed Neuroscience ICU certified as Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Special Equipment : EVD, lumbar drains, CereLink monitor
  • Interdisciplinary Support : Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
  • Patient Diagnoses : Stroke- ischemic, post thrombectomy and lysis, subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral hemorrhage, Status Epilepticus, Post op neurosurgery- brain tumor resection, aneurysm clipping and coiling, Traumatic brain injury, Spinal Cord Injury

    • Required Skills : Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion / Removal, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, and numerous other specialized skills
