Manager - Process Improvement

Job Summary

Seven to ten years of progressive experience in process improvement, operations, or program management within supply chain, commercial, or related business functions. Proven expertise in driving enterprise-wide continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies, supported by strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders (supply chain, commercial, finance, and field operations) to align improvements with business objectives. Experience leveraging analytics and business intelligence tools to identify performance trends, develop insights, and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and service. Strong track record of managing complex projects and change initiatives in large, distributed organizations. Retail, wholesale distribution, or industrial supply industry experience preferred.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Manages the deployment and implementation processes for project rollouts. Communicates and implements projects / initiatives, representing the field and providing direction to project teams throughout development, communication, deployment, and sustainability phases. Manages projects using a completed implementation package from Project Manager with milestones, metrics for success, training, and implementation timelines. Reviews and monitors project and initiative implementation metrics to ensure successful execution, sustainability, and project transition to client groups; transition only occurs after stability of project / initiative has been verified by Project Manager and Corporate Operations. Implements customer relational and procedural improvements maximizing customer loyalty and growth. Provides regional support for all customer-facing initiatives. Provides guidance and feedback to senior leaders on all Metrics and other Operational metrics. Attends meetings as established by senior leaders. Creates standards and simplifies departmental procedures.

Solutions require analysis and investigation. Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and / or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and / or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move / lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds). Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS / BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
