Performs various record keeping tasks to verify accuracy and proper authorization of vendor invoices for system-wide purchases while maintaining prompt customer service both internally and externally.

Position Summary :

Performs various record keeping tasks to verify accuracy and proper authorization of vendor invoices for system-wide purchases while maintaining prompt customer service both internally and externally.

Major Responsibilities :

• Processes invoices and requests for payment, verifying accuracy, authorization, account numbers, and pricing and quantity (when matching in materials management purchasing system) following established UMMHC policies and Accounts Payable department procedures.
• Matches invoices to purchase orders and receives and / or sends invoices to departments for verification and approval.
• Works with departments and purchasing to resolve variances between purchase orders and invoices. Researches, tracks, and documents progress on problems through resolution.
• Inputs invoices into computer with accuracy and in a timely manner consistent with a high-volume department. Organizes work to meet the deadlines of payment schedules and monthly and year-end closings.
• Utilizes all aspects of A / P systems to maximize processing efficiency.
• Maintains orderly and up-to-date files of purchase orders, receivers and invoices to ensure easy retrieval.
