Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Certified First Assist – CVOR (Certified Surgical Technologist) for a top healthcare client in Las Vegas, NV .
This role supports surgeons during cardiovascular and open-heart procedures by providing assistance with exposure, hemostasis, and vein harvesting. The Certified First Assist ensures surgical efficiency, safety, and precision while collaborating closely with physicians and the operating room team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons with all cardiovascular and open-heart procedures, including exposure, tissue handling, and hemostasis.
- Perform saphenous vein harvesting and other technical functions to support optimal surgical outcomes.
- Maintain sterile fields, prepare instruments, and ensure all surgical materials are properly handled.
- Support safe and efficient workflow during complex procedures within the CVOR environment.
- Participate in on-call rotation, providing prompt response and coverage as needed.
- Uphold strict standards for patient safety, documentation, and compliance with all hospital and accreditation guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care throughout surgical episodes.
Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredExperience
Current experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist and Surgical First Assistant requiredPrior experience in CVOR and vein harvesting requiredAcute clinical care and open-heart surgical experience preferredCertifications / Licenses
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through an accredited agencyCertified Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA) through a nationally accredited agencyCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationSkills or Competencies
