The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the College ofDentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking applications for a full-timeDirector of Clinical Operations.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees includingDMD, PhD and Master's programs. This position isresponsible for oversight and management of the clinical operations of the Oraland Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic. This includes the clinic's administrativeoperations, clinic budget management, regulatory compliance, equipment andcapital procurement, development of patient communications, outreach, staffmanagement, scheduling and marketing. The Director will develop all appropriate guidelines, policies andprocedures related to patient care, research, educational programs, clinicalcompliance while ensuring all clinical operations and program support the Departmentand the College of Dentistry's mission.
Qualifications :
The minimum requirements include aBachelor's degree preferably in an oral health profession or related field, a minimumof five years experience in progressive clinical administrativeresponsibilities in an oral health or healthcare organization, and knowledgeand experience in an electronic health records or dental health electronic. A mastersdegree is preferred for this position. An oral health professional degreeand / or licensure in a dental related field is also preferred. Knowledgein business process improvement, knowledge of technical dental and oralmaxillofacial procedures, oral maxillofacial practice experience and / orexperience in an academic oral healthcare environment highly preferred. Thecandidate is expected to have knowledge of budget management and financialinformation systems while having an understanding of various claim / billingmethodologies. Experience in development of systems requirements andimplementation of organization-wide applications along with a background inrisk management programs and understanding compliance with regulatory healthstandards are preferred. The ability to manage people and complex tasksin a busy patient care environment is expected along with good oral and writtencommunication skills, time management skills, stress management, detailoriented, maintaining professional behavior and image, and consistently beingflexible and diplomatic.
