Web Coordinator
Under direction, assists all City departments in developing and publishing World Wide Web (WWW) content. This includes supporting the design of all departmental websites, developing web page templates, managing the city's website overall design, consulting with city staff, training users, and providing first-level support for staff authoring / publishing using the Granicus Content Management System (CMS) as well as approving content and ensuring functionality, accuracy and compliance with website design regulations & usability.
The Web Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Services Analyst, and / or the Deputy Director of Information Technology Systems.
The following is a list of typical duties assigned to the Web Coordinator. The duties included on this list are examples and are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive :
- Collaborates with City departments and divisions to plan, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and build webpages and services using the Granicus Content Management platform.
- Designs and modifies custom graphics for City departments, flyers, and websites utilizing adobe software.
- Design custom online forms for the internet and intranet utilizing the FormStack platform among others.
- Reviews and analyzes user requirements and workflows.
- Provide technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving web-related issues.
- Maintains and creates accessible and cross-browser compatible web pages and sites based on existing templates by utilizing web design standards, industry best practices and ensures ADA compliance.
- Develops, documents, and implements standards and best practices for the City's intranets and internet presence (including posting to all city social media outlets).
- Utilizes web-based applications and compatible development tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, SharePoint, NET, Visual Studio, HTML, ASP / ASP.net) to support and enhance web functionality within Granicus Content Management.
- Maintains new City related web applications using emerging web front-end and back-end technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Will be required to work in a secure facility setting.
Education, Training and Experience
Any combination of education and experience that could provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would include possession of related technical certifications, in addition to the following :
Associates Degree from an accredited college in Information Systems or related field OR relevant IT certifications and;One year of technical experience in performing web content development and design and / or web site coordination.Licenses / Certificates
Possession of valid California Driver's License at time of appointment.Other related technical / cyber security certifications are desirable.Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
