Description
The Accounting Manager assists in all aspects of accounting for corporate and investor financial reporting, including but not limited to technical accounting, financial analysis, account reconciliation, and supervision of accounting staff. This position reports directly to the Director, Accounting and may have up to two direct reports. This will be a hybrid role located in Atlanta, GA.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Oversee general ledger activity, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Manage technical accounting areas such as :
Lease accounting (ASC 842)
Revenue recognitionInventory accounting and standard costingFixed assetsMaintain and enhance lease accounting schedules, journal entries, and disclosures.Oversee inventory accounting across manufacturing and distribution sites.Partner with operations, supply chain, and other teams to provide accounting support and actionable business insights.Support consolidation of financials and preparation of internal financial statements.Maintain and strengthen internal controls; drive process improvements.Assist with budgeting / forecasting in collaboration with FP&A, as needed.Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit and technical accounting documentation.Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and disclosures.Lead and mentor a small accounting team; help build a high-performance finance organization.Support integration workstreams, system upgrades, and special projects related to growth or acquisitions.Other general duties, as needed.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.4-8+ years of accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting with industry experience.Strong technical accounting skills in areas such as ASC 842 (leases), inventory accounting, and fixed assets.Manufacturing or distribution experience strongly preferred.Experience in a private equity-backed or fast-paced, change-heavy environment.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with system improvements or implementations is a plus.Ability to operate hands-on, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement.Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally.Experience supervising accounting staff.We've got you covered.
