Brake Press Operator

This opportunity offers you the ability to the work with some of the best in class machines along with world-class support in pre-production and post-installation.
Job Responsibilities
- Picks the right dies based on the bend size and part material
- Adjusts the brake press stroke based on the thickness and bend of the material
- Adjusts the backstop to the proper dims for each print
- Manually places the work item onto the brake press in accordance with the print
- Take the parts out of the brake press and check them according to the print
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent is required; trade school with mechanical training is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing / fabrication environment.
Essential Skills
- The capacity to read and comprehend blueprints
- Ability to operate hand tools with power, including pneumatic grinders
- Knowledge of fundamental measurement tools
- Strong grasp of fundamental machine operation and knowledge of safety Ability to obey both spoken and written directions
- Strong attention to detail
- Capability of efficient communication with every member of staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working on Brake Press systems is desired.
- Experience operating a fork truck and overhead cranes is beneficial.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Capable of standing for long periods of time and able to bend, stoop, kneel and occasionally climb ladders.
- Ability to use both hands to lift and position metal sheets and plates.
- Ability to wear PPE including safety glasses, hand, foot and hearing protection for extended time periods.
Work Schedule : Mon-Thurs 6AM-4 : 30PM / Friday 6AM-10AM
Occasional Weekends as necessary (Saturday 6AM-12PM)
Location : NE Indianapolis
Pay Range : $23-$24 / hr.
