Assistant Director Of Maintenance
The Assistant Director of Maintenance supports the daily operations of campus facilities by performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. This position helps ensure that all school buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with members of the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of school buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Conduct minor plumbing services.
- Install, repair, and maintain door locks, closers, and other commercial hardware.
- Complete painting, carpentry, and basic electrical work as needed.
- Operate maintenance equipment.
- Assist with event setup, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Maintain an organized workspace and keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Uphold safety standards and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
Qualifications
Experience in facilities, building maintenance, or a related trade preferred.Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.Ability to operate and maintain light equipment (tractors, skid steers, etc.) preferred.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
