Amotec is conducting a search for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a global precision component manufacturing company located in the Traverse City, MI area.

Position Summary :

As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and enhancement of manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Your role will entail close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Spearhead the development and implementation of CNC programs and process plans for precision mill-turning and grinding.
• Define and deploy work holding and cutting tools for optimal manufacturing operations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive process instructions, including routings, work instructions, and procedures.
• Provide daily support to the shop floor to ensure seamless production operations.
• Lead production launch and improvement initiatives for both new and existing programs.
• Apply LEAN manufacturing techniques to streamline processes and foster continuous improvement.
• Utilize data-driven methods such as FMEA, SPC, and PPAP to drive cost reduction and quality enhancement.
• Manage and support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Collaborate closely with product design teams to align manufacturing processes with product and customer requirements.
• Drive problem-solving initiatives within a collaborative team environment.

Required and Preferred Experience :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in precision machining environments.
• Demonstrate intimate knowledge of common machine tools and CNC programming, ideally with ESPRIT proficiency.
• Show proficiency in CAD software such as SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
• Possess knowledge of quality systems and specifications including PPAP, FMEA, and GD&T.
• Have experience with LEAN initiatives and root cause analysis.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Show self-motivation and a strong drive to accomplish tasks and projects.
