At the Developer Experience organization within Infrastructure, our vision is to make Coinbase the most developer-friendly environment for quick and efficient product creation and deployment. We aim to enhance the joy and speed with which developers can use our products and services.

The Server Foundations team within Developer Experience is passionate about enabling efficiency through foundational excellence, allowing Coinbase's backend engineers to achieve rapid progress. We focus on revitalizing Coinbase's software development framework along with application server components, shared libraries, and related tooling, enabling engineers to launch applications in development environments in minutes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software development frameworks and shared libraries for Coinbase’s backend engineering teams.
• Develop user-friendly abstractions to simplify and standardize feature offerings.
• Ensure the performance, automation, and standardization of gRPC services.
• Understand and anticipate the long-term needs of our backend infrastructure.
• Engage in technical decision-making, providing design justification, and collaborating with other teams.
• Gather and clarify requirements for backend development frameworks, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Create professional documentation and diagrams to effectively convey concepts and architectures.
• Manage and troubleshoot complex technical problems and incidents, ensuring clear communication and proper escalation.
• Support and maintain our existing infrastructure to ensure high service levels and availability.
• Build strong working relationships with other teams in Infrastructure, Security, business partners, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Stay current with developments and best practices in our field and provide innovative recommendations.

Pay Transparency Notice : Depending on your location, the target annual salary for this role ranges between $152,405 and $179,300 USD. Full-time offers also include a target bonus, target equity, and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
