The Propulsion System Development & Calibration Engineer is responsible for conducting propulsion systems (ePT, Trans and Engine) development, testing and calibration. The engineer will plan and coordinate day to day activities of a powertrain dynamometer including interaction with technicians and support engineers. In addition, test plans and timelines will be developed and reports generated to communicate the status of the program to the larger team. Evaluations will occur with new propulsion system hardware and powertrain technologies for future and carry over applications. The engineer will analyze and solve complex system problems as they relate to propulsion system performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and core calibration development. The engineer will manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of data. The engineer will also actively participate in the decision process of propulsion system hardware selection and core calibration to achieve functional objectives.
