Position Summary
This role involves performing essential radiographic procedures for interventional studies within specialized areas.
Position Duties
- Work under the supervision of the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and do not oversee any staff members.
- Coordinate the daily work schedule with Radiologists and manage emergencies as they arise.
- Show proficiency in using all relevant aspects of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Order, maintain, and understand the function of all necessary ancillary equipment used in both diagnostic and therapeutic examinations.
- Engage in continuing education and train with the IV team prior to performing venous punctures. Obtain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Perform venous punctures and maintain central venous lines during examinations, prepared to administer CPR when necessary. Operate radiographic equipment to produce angiographic, digital, and other specialized images.
- Act as Team Leader in their absence.
- Conduct follow-up observation and monitoring until patients depart from the department.
- Engage in hemodynamic monitoring duties, including setup and maintenance of various monitoring devices.
- Manipulate images according to departmental protocols.
- Be available for on-call duties and work variable shifts as required by the department's needs.
- Conduct quality control checks on equipment ensuring adherence to proper procedures.
- Prepare patients for interventional procedures, explain processes, and inject approved medications under direct supervision of Radiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Educate staff on the use of IR equipment and procedures, and conduct research projects under the oversight of Radiologists or Section Chiefs.
- Execute miscellaneous job-related responsibilities as requested.
