Responsibilities
- Establish and grow relationships with truckload, LTL, intermodal, and other transport carriers in North America to support customer requirements
- Manage RFQs to establish the best rates possible and secure capacity
- Participate in carrier engagement to ensure customer business to supported
- Initiate and oversee contracting process for new transportation providers
- Support carrier training and on-boarding to ensure compliance with Penske and customer requirements.
- Ensure all tariffs built in our transportation management system are accurate and reflect negotiated rates
- Use transport data and analytics to identify customer-specific cost and service opportunities
- Proactively develop and present savings proposals
- Work closely with Penske sales executives to respond quickly to perspective customer Requests for Quote
- Work closely with the Operations teams to trouble shoot issues and provide adequate carrier capacity
- Other Sourcing related projects as assigned by your supervisor
