Federal Health Consultant, Sr. Associate
Mercer is seeking a talented individual to join our Federal Health Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Washington DC. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Senior Associate in Mercer's Federal Health practice, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact solutions to federal government clients. This position sits at the intersection of policy, data, and strategysupporting public health programs that serve millions of individuals.
This role is ideal for professionals with 35 years of experience in healthcare consulting, government programs, or public health who are ready to deepen their impact and grow into formal leadership roles.
We will count on you to :
- Lead defined project workstreams from start to finish
- Develop and manage detailed work plans and timelines for assigned tasks
- Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables
- Conduct or oversee complex analyses using technology enabled tools
- Interpret healthcare and policy data (e.g., quality metrics, utilization, financials) to develop actionable insights
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients on specific workstreams
- Participate in client meetings, present findings, and contribute to discussions and recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuaries, policy analysts, and clinicians
What you need to have :
Bachelor's or master's degree in public health, Health Policy, Public Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field35 years of experience in consulting, government, or healthcare-related rolesStrong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Excel)Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbalDemonstrated ability to manage complex tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaborativelyExperience working with publicly funded health programs preferredWhat makes you stand out?
