Accounts Payable Manager
Job Description
Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a new opening with our client, a well-established employer in the Triad.
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will oversee the entire A / P team, as well as accounts payable operations. The Accounts Payable Manager will also ensure timely and accurate processing of non-payroll disbursements to individuals, vendors, corporations and other entities, and oversee the maintenance of supporting records.
A selected candidate should have verifiable experience in establishing SOPs and new software integration.
Job responsibilities include :
- Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and maintains accurate records and control reports
- Processes A / P check runs
- Reconciles specific General Ledger accounts
- Resolves discrepancies, concerns, questions, and problems raised by employees, vendors and / or management
- Monitors day-to-day work of staff for process adherence and compliance
- Evaluates employee work and productivity
- Prepares journal entries as necessary
- Responsible for sales tax and property tax reporting
- Reviews and verifies accuracy of sales tax accrued, report and remit tax to appropriate states by due dates
- Processes IRS Form at year end for required vendors
- Records fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions
Job Requirements
EDUCATION :
- This Position requires a minimum of an Associates Degree in accounting or related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / SPECIAL SKILLS :
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
- Strong understanding of job costing.
- Knowledge of accounts payable principles, procedures and standards.
- Ability to configure and maintain personal computers.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Ability to verify data input and correct errors.
- Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Prior experience establishing departmental SOPs.
- Previous experience successfully overseeing the integration of new software.
