Buckley Express W / Gas Annex Manager | Aafes
Position Summary : As the Express with Gas Annex Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operations of a small, annexed retail store, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll support a small team (primarily two people), maintain inventory, and ensure the store is clean, safe, and fully stocked. Annex qualifications are determined by the Volume Standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Customer Experience :
- Greet every customer with eye contact and a genuine smile.
- Acknowledge waiting customers promptly and provide timely assistance.
- Listen actively to customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
- Stay informed on product trends and customer preferences to drive sales.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.
- Complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in friendly conversation.
- Store Operations :
- Manage daily operations including opening / closing, cash handling, and fuel pump monitoring.
- Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and product labeling.
- Restock shelves and coolers; maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
- Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and operational policies.
- Submit required reports (sales, inventory, incidents, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Leadership & Management :
- Supervise and support one team member; provide coaching and feedback.
- Create and manage weekly schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Train new employees on store procedures, customer service, and safety.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues and customer concerns.
Job Qualifications :
Completion of high school or equivalent.One year of retail experience in store operations within the last two years is required.If applicable, must successfully complete the Management Motor Compliance Course #175S within three months of occupying the position.Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs.Able to think quickly on the spot to answer customer questions.Able to take initiative and share brand knowledge.Preferred Skills :
Previous convenience store / gas station experience preferred.Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.Willingness to cross-train and assist in other areas as needed.Basic computer proficiency (POS systems, email, inventory software).A welcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and team members.
