Vice President, Medicine
Maimonides is currently seeking a Vice President, Medicine to serve as the administrative leader responsible for the overall management, development, and advancement of Medicine and its divisions. In close collaboration with faculty and senior leadership, the VP oversees the coordination and integration of clinical operations, education and research programs, network affiliations, and quality improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key responsibilities include strategic planning, financial oversight, business development, personnel management, physician recruitment and integration, productivity and utilization, marketing, space management, and Department operations; ensures alignment with institutional priorities and supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through effective operational, financial, and administrative leadership. Other responsibilities include :
Operations Management
- Oversee administrative operations (inpatient, ambulatory, physician practice, educational) in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor and improve performance metrics, quality standards, and financial results
- Support physician onboarding fostering a positive experience for incoming providers
- Lead initiatives to improve patient access, physician and staff satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with governance guidelines and regulatory requirements
Financial Management
Develop and manage departmental budgeting, forecasting and financial performanceAnalyze productivity benchmarks and manage resource allocationCollaborate with physicians and staff to optimize efficiencyPhysician Outreach and Community Engagement
Lead referring physician outreach and community marketing strategiesStrengthen referral networks and track engagement effectivenessStrategic Planning and Program Development
Develop and execute strategic plans to support and grow clinical, academic and research missionsDrive clinical program expansion and physician recruitmentQualifications
Masters degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field is required.Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible administrative, financial and clinical operations experience in an academic health system. Experience within a hospital system is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of management experience (e.g., planning, directing, monitoring, organizing and controlling monetary and non-monetary resources) in a matrixed academic environment with significant business impact and extensive scope.Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, fiscal management, administrative operations, resource allocation, human resources, and staff development.Experience working closely with multidisciplinary medical staff.Pay Range
USD $250,000.00 - USD $310,000.00 / Yr.
