Job description

Merchandising Sales Specialist

As an integral member of the Field Activity Support Team (FAST), you will travel to various stores, executing a variety of essential tasks from start to finish. This includes handling planograms, merchandise assembly, fixture assembly, and maintaining effective signage. You will engage with customers and Team Members to ensure a legendary customer experience that sets us apart.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and overtime based on business needs.
  • Keep open lines of communication with the District FAST Supervisor about work outcomes, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Execute planograms and resets both accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to visual merchandising standards.
  • Conduct store-specific measurements.
  • Implement store layout initiatives efficiently.
  • Perform accurate inventory cycle counts.
  • Follow the Tractor Way top cap process.
  • Install store signage effectively.
  • Assemble merchandise and fixtures.
  • Ensure meticulous recovery and planogram accuracy.
  • Deliver legendary customer service using the GURA model :
  • Greet the Customer.
  • Understand Customer's Needs & Wants.
  • Recommend Product Solutions.
  • Express Appreciation for the Customer.
  • Ensure customers enjoy a unique shopping experience that distinguishes us from competitors.
  • Be available for peak coverage during busy times, such as the Day After Thanksgiving.
  • Be prepared to take on additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications :

Experience : Previous retail and / or merchandising experience is required. Knowledge of farming, ranching, pets / equine, or welding is a plus. You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. You must be able to read, write, and accurately perform basic arithmetic.

Preferred Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong knowledge in farming, ranching, pets / equine, or welding.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with a focus on ethical conflict resolution.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

    • Working Conditions :

  • The work environment is generally indoors with moderate noise levels.
  • Shifts vary by location, usually ranging from 4 to over 8 hours.
  • Traveling between different store locations in your vehicle is required.
  • Must promote a safe and efficient work environment while observing company safety guidelines.
  • Working surfaces include hard floors and outdoor areas, with adequate lighting and temperature.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Willingness to travel as needed within the district.
  • Ability to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds using proper equipment.
  • Capability to lift or reach for merchandise overhead occasionally.
  • Frequent actions include standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, bending, and climbing.
  • Ability to access all store areas and operate store equipment, including computers and cash registers.
  • Ability to read, write and count accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable handling birds and poultry.
  • Ability to complete necessary training successfully.
  • Capable of using various equipment essential for store operations.
  • Required physical activities include sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, driving, standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
  • The role requires stamina and agility to navigate the store and outdoor areas safely and swiftly.
  • This position is non-sedentary.
