About The Position

Experience : 2 years in Medical-Surgical / Telemetry and Surgical Telemetry

License : DC RN Licensure

Certifications : BLS, EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam

Must-Have :

Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Experience with wound care, wound vacs, and surgical drains is required.

Experience with a Cerner charting system is necessary.

At least one travel assignment must be completed if the candidate has less than 4 years of experience.

Description :

This is a 16-bed unit with all private rooms.

The unit provides exceptional post-operative care for patients undergoing complex procedures.

Common surgical procedures include reconstructive plastic surgery, diabetic limb salvage with reconstructive flaps, and complex wound management.

The nursing team collaborates closely with an exceptional Nurse Practitioner team.

This collaboration creates a strong standard in patient care.

There is a daily communication pathway among physicians, physical therapists, and clinical pharmacists.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6.

The facility requires all employees to receive the flu vaccine.

Employees may come into contact with patients who have had COVID-19.

Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as rotating shifts may vary between days and nights within the same week.

There is no on-call requirement, but weekend rotation is included (every other weekend required).

All nurses may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity.
