American Leadership Academy is accepting applications for a Maintenance Manager for our Vistancia JH / HS campus in Peoria, AZ. This position performs work associated with complete facility management that includes scheduling, repair and maintenance of various trades to include, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, and HVAC system.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Responsible for creating, managing and performing preventative maintenance on facility equipment. This includes, but not limited to the following; chillers, boilers, air handlers, filters, pumps, elevator equipment, drains and stormwater system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Considerable knowledge of hand and power tools, materials, and methods used in general maintenance work;
- Computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PDF applications
- Effective time management skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to accurately read, interpret, and comply with departmental procedures;
- Ability to provide attention to detail and to minimize errors;
- Ability and physical strength sufficient to move objects;
- Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and complete tasks in the absence of clear direction;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building tenants.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of AZ requirements.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with commercial building maintenance;Electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting and boiler certification.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and complete work orders for scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and special projects related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, and HVAC;Inspects facilities for needed maintenance or repairs; performs routine installation, maintenance, and repair tasks of building and systems;Performs physical duties such as carrying materials around facilities for maintenance, cleaning work sites, and obtaining and transporting supplies / tools / equipment;Responds to inclement weather emergencies and / or natural disasters by cleaning and clearing debris;Performs other related duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to use a variety of equipment such as computers, hand / power tools, etc. Must be able to communicate effectively. The work requires the ability to operate automotive equipment. Continually requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Due to the amount of time spent standing and / or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for heavy work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in an indoor and outdoor environment and come into direct contact with school and tenant administration and staff. Frequent exposure to hazardous materials, gases, and chemicals, and inclement weather conditions.
