About the Opportunity :

Casa Teresa is a new Spanish Restaurant by Chef Ruben Garcia, utilizing open-fire cooking and seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.

Casa Teresa is located inside DC's newest culinary destination, The Square, a collective of a dynamic lineup of talented cooks and craftspeople brought together by Unfold Hospitality.

We’re longtime food industry veterans and some of the creative minds formerly behind ThinkFoodGroup, Union Market, and La Cosecha.

We are looking for experienced Servers with a strong work ethics to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.

Ruben Garcia's roots in the culinary world run through Spain's finest kitchens. Beginning in the Michelin star kitchens of Jean Luc Figueras and Martin Berasetegui, Ruben enhanced his knowledge of innovative techniques, imaginative presentation and high-quality products during his five years with Ferran Adria at El Bulli.

Ruben continued pushing the limits of avant-garde cooking as creative director of minibar, working closely with Chef Jose Andres.

Inspired by the life and cooking of his abuela Teresa, Ruben founded Casa Teresa as an homage to the home cooks who created the tradition of Spanish cuisine.

We are looking for experienced Captains with a strong work ethics to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Anticipate guests’ needs and ensure that service meets / exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
• Ability to multi-task myriad floor responsibilities - including table marking, proper wine glass placement & general table maintenance and leading the team through service
• Ability to speak confidently about menu items and offer guidance in the selection of menu items and beverages
• Receive and greet members guests; assist with seating if necessary.
• Check tables throughout service times for guest satisfaction, and service enhaments opportunities.
• Maintain presentation standards and sound knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques

REQUIREMENTS :

• Minimum 2 years fine dining food and beverage service captain experience
• Must have excellent knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
• Professional presentation and positive attitude
• Excellent knowledge of POS system
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Open availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
