Job Details : \n

  • Work primarily 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday from 6 : 45 AM to 3 : 15 PM

    • \n

  • Call requirements include 1-2 weekdays (3 : 15 PM to 6 : 45 AM) and every 2-3 weekends (Friday 3 : 15 PM to Monday 6 : 45 AM)

    • \n

  • Must be willing to work all shifts including holidays on a rotating basis

    • \n

  • Minimum 3 years CVOR experience required

    • \n

  • Required certification : BLS

    • \n

  • Must be willing to cross-train into general OR and other specialties when CV volume is low

    • \n

  • May float to floors as helping hands or 1 : 1 sitter when OR volumes are low

    • \n

  • Work with 2 CVOR suites handling 1-3 cases per day

    • \n

  • Common cases include open hearts (CABG, valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5

    • \n

  • Experience required with open hearts, CABG, and valves

    • \n

  • Scrubbing not required for RNs

    • \n

  • 15-minute call response time required with 8-hour reprieve shifts available post-call

    • \n

  • CV RNs make their own call schedule as a group

    • \n

  • EPIC charting system used

    • \n

  • Scrubs provided

    • \n

  • Profile review and manager interview required

    • \n

  • Orientation includes 3-4 days hospital clinical orientation, EPIC class, unit orientation / modules, 4-5 days unit-based orientation, and 2 buddy call shifts

    This healthcare facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center providing comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical services. The facility features 2 CVOR suites and handles a full range of cardiac procedures including complex open heart surgeries, valve repairs, and advanced cardiovascular interventions. The organization maintains modern equipment including robotic surgical systems and advanced life support technologies, with dedicated OR techs and charge nurses available for support across all shifts.
