- Other Enterprise Strategy Initiatives (including special assignments from the C-Suite and Board of Directors)
Our Strategy Manager leads internal consulting projects and teams that provide actionable, strategic recommendations based on detailed research and analysis to support executives in driving long-term, profitable growth. This position will apply extensive experience with various problem-solving techniques, including hypothesis-driven problem solving, integration and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data, clear written and verbal communication, and an ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.
What You Will Do :
Develop high-quality strategic options and recommendations for topics critical to enterprise strategy and growthLead cross-functional project teams in synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data from internal Caterpillar businesses, third party sources, and external expert interviews to derive insightful conclusions that maximize business impact and support strategic decision makingManage key stakeholders and executive sponsors and influence Caterpillar's future directionVoice and challenge strategic concerns constructively when necessaryWhat You Have :
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering; 5-7+ years of total professional experience in functions like corporate strategy, consulting, finance, operations, engineering management, data analytics, research, or decision sciences; Demonstrated excellence in problem solving as well as analytical, quantitative, and conceptual thinkingKnowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to systematically identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage with them.Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situationsUnderstanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Knowledge of the importance of the "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organizationKnowledge of techniques, roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriatelyWhat Will Set You Apart :
MBA or master's degree from a top-tier programAdvanced PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)Experience leading projects at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank or corporate strategy group of a high-performing corporationProfessional experience in industrials, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar industriesAdditional Information :
