Your impact
The CTA Curbside Improvement Program Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.)

- Technical / Construction background with experience in an operating / active environment
- Knowledge in design and construction contracting practices and methodologies
- Knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle from Concept to Project Definition Book to Permit to Bulletins
- Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating / buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout
- Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved
- Contributing to a high level of team morale through professionalism that reflects well on the project team, external stakeholders and LAWA / internal stakeholders
Essential Job Duties
Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required.Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system.Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner. OFFICE ENGINEER I (Terminal 5 Office Engineer) TDIP - Office Engineer I T5 Office Engineer, TDIP-093 PS1269 Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses / review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s).Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as : attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etcHere's what you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or other related technical field requiredAt least 5 years of experience, preferably on airport projectsExperience with projects more than $50 million in valueExperience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design / BuildExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamExperience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PM Web preferredMay assume other duties as required / neededMaybe required to work past regular work shiftMaybe required to work various shifts as neededLAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN'd into or a laptop computerConsultant MUST have a company-provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessaryCell phone provided by consultant is requiredThis is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAXAfter hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. The base salary range for this position is $79,900.00 to $124,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
