An Estimator in the restoration industry is a professional responsible for assessing property damage and determining the costs associated with repairing or rebuilding structures. They work closely with clients, insurance companies, and restoration teams to ensure accurate and efficient cost estimation. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Proficiency in industry-specific software and excellent communication are also key to effectively negotiate and finalize estimates.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for restoration and reconstruction projects.
- Ensure alignment with company profitability targets and efficiency metrics.
- Support overall marketing by building relationships with our clients and adjusters.
- Provide scope of work for all activities of restoration and reconstruction work related to fire damage, water damage, mold or other related unexpected catastrophes.
- Estimate job scope and secure agreed price.
- Work with the approving party / adjusters to come to a settlement amount that is fair for our clients, Paul Davis & the insurance company.
- Prepare an estimate product that sets up Project Managers to ensure jobs are completed as a Quality Job On Budget (QJOB).
- Support Project Managers in supplemental and change order needs.
- Support estimating team members in producing quality and consistent estimate products.
- Support Client Care Coordinators and invoicing.
- Support the entire life cycle of a project.
- Be a champion of continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Estimating, preferably in Restoration
- Experience with estimating software
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Excel knowledge and ability to create and review complex spreadsheets
- Proficiency with estimating software (CoreLogic Estimate, Xactimate, T&M Pro and CRM tools)
- Pays close attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills
- Key Skills : Highly Organized; Ability to multi-task and prioritize; Effective Communicator

- Ability to lift, carry and manage 50lbs physically when tasked to
- Visit loss sites when approved by the Team Lead
- Maintain and obtain additional IICRC certifications as required
Standard Duties & Expectations
- Report weekly to the Team Lead or Lead Estimator.
- Prepare timely and accurate damage scopes and estimates using Xactimate, CoreLogic, and T&M Pro.
- Estimate all three services we provide in a timely and proficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with third-party program (TPA / DRP, etc) service standards.
- Use 3D imaging software to support estimate preparation.
- Stay knowledgeable about insurance claims processes, industry trends, and building materials / technologies.
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and clients.
- Participate in training sessions and maintain IICRC certifications as required.
- Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including proper PPE use.
- Hours : Full-time salaried position with standard business hours; may extend to 60 hours per week during high volume.
- Availability for occasional after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Stay on standby for incoming calls after standard working hours for a total of 7 days per year.

Basic Requirements
- 2+ years of estimating experience, preferably in Restoration
