About The Position

Description :

This position involves specializing in the care of stable trauma patients.

The role includes pre-operative and post-operative care of the surgical patient population.

Registered Nurses will be part of a team managing high-volume patient populations such as those undergoing exploratory laparotomies, hemi-colectomies, mastectomies, and lap cholecystectomies.

Patients with eye surgeries, trauma, and plastic surgeries will also be included.

The unit also cares for patients undergoing various gynecological procedures and provides palliative care for observation and medical overflow patients.

Nurse-patient ratios will be maintained at 1 : 5-6.

Staff are required to administer blood products and manage peripheral lines.

The position may require floating between facilities if necessary.

Flexibility with scheduling is important due to the facility's policies on punctuality and attendance.

Candidates should anticipate completing compliance requirements promptly.

EKG exam preparation is necessary as all nurses must pass this requirement regardless of specialty.

Experience with telemonitoring systems is required for this role.

Additional responsibilities will include managing various medical devices and supporting the rapid response team.

Trained support staff will be available for interdisciplinary care, including therapy services and social support.
