Sullaluna is a family owned Italian bookstore and bistrot in the West Village. We are a young and growing concept that combines food, culture and design. Ownership and the full management team are Italian, hands on and present every day, with a clear culinary and business vision.
We are looking for a chef with whom we can grow together. This is not a short term replacement or a stopgap role. We want to build something over time, develop projects together and evolve the kitchen with a shared mindset.
The work environment is healthy and respectful. No toxic dynamics, no yelling, no chaos. The climate is collaborative, calm and stable. The objective is long term growth for both the chef and the company.

Role and responsibilities
Lead daily kitchen operations
Execute and help shape a focused Italian menu
Manage prep, service and quality control
Train and grow the kitchen team
Work directly with ownership on menu development, projects and food costs
Ensure consistency, cleanliness and organization
Ideal profile
Strong background in Italian cuisine
New York kitchen experience preferred
Leadership based on trust, not fear
Reliable, organized, calm under pressure
