Job Title
Beginning pay range for position : $25.50 - $29.00 per hour
Summary : Under the direction of the Public Works Director, performs full working level professional construction inspection duties, by rendering objective and impartial decisions in a firm and tactful manner for construction in City right-of-way. Interface with the public in a professional manner to solve citizen issues during Capital Improvement Projects construction. Receives general supervision from the Public Works Supervisor and Lead Worker. Performs a variety of customer service and preventative maintenance duties in the maintenance of City public infrastructure and property.

Qualification Requirements
High school graduate or general education degree (GED). Five years of experience in Public Works or related field. Possess a class "B" Colorado operators (drivers) license, attainable within six-months from date of hire. Certification in Sewer Collections and Water Distribution, or attainable within one-year from date of hire. Certification as an Erosion Control Supervisor per the standards of the Colorado Department of Transportation or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of all Public Works policies and directives. Working knowledge of Public Works construction standards. Must be able to interact positively with public and contractors. Working knowledge of common hazards and safety precautions necessary for public works operation. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, and engineering drawings and interpret legal descriptions, plat maps, and work plans to provide technical information to contractors and general public. Adjust to changing work conditions and unexpected assignments with a positive attitude while accomplishing duties. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, contractors and the general public.
