Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
\n
- Develop solid models and create 2D assembly-level drawings that will become Government Furnished Information (GFI) for new submarine analysis systems.
\n
Work daily with onsite government Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that information is technically accurate.\n
Develop project schedules, create technical reports, whitepapers, and general correspondence.\n
Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures or develop solid models to predict stresses and structural performance.\n
Assist the Design Team with material selection using proper commercial and / or Military Specifications.\n
Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of design and engineering products.\n
Interface with customers and government sponsors.\n \n
Qualifications
\n
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.\n
Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.\n
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining / holding a U.S. security clearance\n
Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines :\n
Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.\n
Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine.\n
At least three (3) years business experience in : \nGeneral engineering.

Working with SOLIDWORKS.\n
Working with Microsoft Office Suite.\n
Working with Visio Diagram / Flowchart Software.\n \n
