Manufacturing Process Engineer

JOB TITLE : Manufacturing Process Engineer

REPORTS TO : Engineering Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION :

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is essential in defining and optimizing operations to manufacture high-quality products while meeting safety, efficiency, and cost expectations. This role involves troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective measures, as well as researching new equipment and upgrades.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

• Evaluate, implement, and continuously monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Create, edit, and maintain essential documentation, including process maps, routings, BOMs, process FMEAs, work instructions, and control plans.
• Oversee equipment calibration and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with customers to design innovative products and establish production processes for these new designs.
• Monitor and enhance the safety, speed, and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing operations through data analysis and hands-on observations.
• Utilize 3D SolidWorks software to design simple fixtures and gauges; willingness to learn SolidWorks is acceptable if prior experience is lacking.
• Take responsibility for safety / environmental concerns and maintain ongoing process performance.
• Maintain the ERP routings for all part numbers within the Dayton SI group.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with extensive experience in manufacturing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to communicate effectively, stand, walk, and utilize their hands for handling or manipulating objects. Specific vision abilities required include the capacity for close vision, distance vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
