Job Description
This person will guide the estimating team, drive business development efforts, pursue high-fit work, and contribute to long-term market strategy. They will step into an essential leadership position during a period of accelerated transition due to an upcoming retirement.
This role requires deep concrete construction expertise, strong client relationship skills, and the ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing preconstruction team.
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the primary leader and representative of the Preconstruction department.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team (4 direct reports).
- Guide strategic planning for market positioning, workload, and company growth.
Business Development
Maintain and expand client relationships.Pursue and secure high-fit project opportunities.Represent ELY in proposals, presentations, and preconstruction meetings.Preconstruction & Estimating
Oversee all estimating activities for accuracy and competitiveness.Delegate and manage team workload effectively.Implement value-engineering solutions and support market / vertical expansion.Success Metrics (6–12 Months)

Industry Expertise
10–15 years of concrete construction experience.Background with a GC that self-performs concrete or a concrete contractor with diverse project experience (not limited to tilt-up).Experience with Structural and or Elevated ConcreteEducation
Relevant construction or engineering education preferred.Functional Competencies (Must-Have)
Ability to build and leverage a strong client portfolio.Advanced preconstruction / estimating skills.Experience managing and developing an estimating team.Relocation package available!
