The Section of Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, seeks an energetic, team-focused, palliative medicine physician to join our interdisciplinary Palliative Care Service.

Our team is comprised of Palliative Medicine physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, coordinating RNs, chaplains, social workers, and healing arts.

You will join an established and nationally recognized system, committed to promoting excellence and innovation in clinical care, education and research.

Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
  • Board-certified / board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is required. The ideal candidate will have completed fellowship training in palliative care, and will have at least 2+ years of post-fellowship experience practicing in palliative medicine.

For this position, completion of residency training and board certification is preferred in one of the following specialties : internal medicine, medicine / pediatrics, family medicine, or emergency medicine.

Eligible for NH License and DEA

Responsibilities :

  • Responsibilities will include both inpatient and outpatient consultation, supervision of students and residents.
  • This position will function primarily in the outpatient setting but those clinicians interested in both inpatient and outpatient practice will also be considered
  • Supervision of palliative care fellows and internal medicine residents
  • All attending physicians will carry a 10% teaching responsibility and will receive an academic appointment commensurate with experience

Required Licensure / Certifications

  • Current or eligible for New Hampshire Medical License
  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
  • Active hospital staff membership
