About The Position

Certifications : ACLS, NIH

Must-Have :

• CRRT experience is mandatory
• Skills in IABP, Impella, and EVD drain management preferred

Description :

The unit does not allow travel pairs.

No holiday requests will be approved.

The manager prefers RNs with IABP, Impella, CRRT Prismax, and EVD Drain skills.

CRRT experience is mandatory, along with at least one additional skill.

The SICU population includes trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients, and complicated surgical patients.

Special requirements include the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and blood product administration.

Common diagnoses include acute ventilator need, COVID-positive with high oxygen demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable gastrointestinal bleed, trauma cases, open heart recovery, and multi-system organ failure.

Staffing ratios are 1 : 2-3 and may increase when floating to step down units.

Weekends are required every other week.

Clinicians will float within their scope to meet facility needs.

RTO restrictions are at the manager's discretion.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services.

The patient care environment consists of a mixed medical / surgical ICU with 38 beds.

Special procedures conducted include conscious sedation, EGD, chest tube insertions, and bronchoscopies.

The unit utilizes specialized equipment such as Swan catheters, ICU specialty beds, and CRRT machines.
