Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : West Des Moines, IA (50266) – Greater Des Moines metro area Healthcare Setting : 24-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 2 operating rooms Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $2070 - $2220 Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation if scheduled Floating : Required to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran, Iowa Methodist) Scrubs : Hospital provided Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a hospital setting, including OR experience At least one completed travel nursing assignment in the past 12 months (no first-time travelers) Required certifications : BLS, ACLS OB, NRP Experience with C-section and vaginal deliveries, triage, and postpartum care Ability to float to Mother Baby / Postpartum Care units as needed Proficiency with EPIC EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Submission of work history / resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, and required certifications One supervisory performance evaluation / reference from within the last 2 years Proof of taxable address (driver’s license, utility bill, lease / rental agreement, etc.) Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to manage patient care throughout the labor and delivery process Assist with C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage assessments Administer and monitor drips (magnesium, insulin, pitocin) as required Float to other campuses and units as needed to support patient care Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations Take the next step in your travel nursing career with this outstanding Labor & Delivery RN job in West Des Moines, Iowa.
