Atlantic Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Estimator to lead all estimating functions for our HVAC / R projects. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving profitability, securing new business, and managing a high‑performing estimating team. With a minimum of 7 years of HVAC / R estimating experience, the ideal candidate combines deep industry knowledge with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating team for all HVAC / R projects
• Analyze plans, specifications, and documentation to develop detailed cost estimates
• Perform takeoffs for ductwork, piping, refrigeration, and controls
• Develop labor rates and cost models using historical data and market trends
• Oversee subcontractor / vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing
• Conduct risk assessments and support bid strategy development
• Coordinate bid review meetings with project managers and executives
• Present final estimates and bid packages to executive leadership
• Track and report on bid activity, win / loss ratios, and department KPIs
• Mentor junior estimators and oversee quality control of all bids
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to align estimating with business goals
• Support contract negotiations and project transitions post-award
• Implement continuous improvement processes and tools for the estimating function
