Job descriptionMinimum H.S. Diploma or equivalent with courses relating to drafting 3+ years experience with ornamental metals / ACM or insulated panels / curtainwall / storefront Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) System Experience with AutoCAD 2014+ and Bluebeam PDF Editing Software eSUB Project Management Software experience (preferred) 1+ years experience with CNC programming (preferred) Experience with the exterior envelope including panel systems, rainscreens, air / vapor barrier systems (preferred) Experience with material take-offs and estimating (preferred) Knowledge of construction and fabrication methods (preferred)
We've partnered with a premier architectural metal and glass contractor looking to hire a full-time, in-person drafter. This position would work on shop drawings for panels, glazing, and ornamental metals, with CNC programming experience being a big plus. The position offers strong benefits and the chance to work closely with project managers on high-profile glass and panel projects.
Responsibilities :
- Create and / or modify panel systems shop drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review project scope provided by manager based on architectural drawings and specifications.
- Review shop drawings returned by the architect / GC with comments and make corrections as necessary for resubmittal.
- Modify drawings based on field sizes and create a final As-Built set of drawings for record.
- Create part drawings, sketches and fabrication layout diagrams.
