divh2Transportation Driver / h2pThe Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting patients and / or equipment to and from various outside appointments, clinics, nursing facilities, hospitals, or other ancillary locations via hospital-owned vehicle. This position must integrate company values into daily practice. / ppEssential Functions : / pulliTransports patients in a safe and professional manner / liliAssures vehicles are clean and in working order. Responsible for cleaning of inside of van utilizing appropriate chemicals between patients. / liliCommunicates with various hospital staff in order to receive relevant data and instructions. / liliInspects vehicle prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport. Reports vehicle concerns timely. / liliAssists with transferring and balancing patients. Ensures patients physical and overall comfort. / liliFollows all patient safety and vehicle safety requirements. Responsible for knowing what PPE to apply to patient and driver prior to transport. / liliNotifies proper staff regarding changes in condition or behavior of patient. / liliMay be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. / liliProvides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. / liliMaintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule. / liliPerforms other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization. / li / ulpMinimum Job Requirements / pulliHigh school graduate or equivalent preferred. / liliBasic Life Support card required. / liliSix months van transport experience preferred. / li / ulpRequired Licenses, Certifications, and / or Documentation : / pulliMust maintain acceptable driving record, current class specific drivers license, and insurability. / liliDriving record must meet the standards of the Transportation Policy. / li / ulpRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : / pulliDemonstrates proficiency using the machines, tools, equipment and / or work aids appropriate for the position. / liliDemonstrates critical thinking skills. / liliAbility to maintain quality, Infection Prevention, and safety standards. / liliAbility to maintain proper levels of confidentiality. / liliEffective organizational and time management skills. / liliEffective written and verbal communication skills, compassionate and understanding. / li / ulpPhysical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift : / pulliA significant amount of sitting, driving, and reaching, often for prolonged periods of time. / liliBoth gross and precise motor functions. / liliLifting / exerting of up to 50 lbs. / liliPossible exposure to bodily fluids. / liliSufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard. / liliClose vision and the ability to adjust focus. / liliAbility to hear overhead pages. / li / ul / div
