IT Application Analyst (Level II)
Overview
Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy provider committed to modernizing its workforce management and time-tracking systems, is seeking an IT Application Analyst (Level II) to join the team. This role plays a key part in supporting and enhancing MyTime, the company’s enterprise time-tracking system, as it undergoes a major cloud migration.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, and JavaScript, with excellent troubleshooting skills to support business users, resolve system issues, and assist in testing and implementation. This is a hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC (Optimist Hall), offering hands-on experience with critical systems that integrate time tracking, payroll, and HR data.
Experience of the Right Candidate
The right candidate will have :
- 3–5 years of IT applications support or analysis experience in a complex enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases, including querying and troubleshooting.
- 1–3 years of JavaScript experience for system or vendor-specific customizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Experience supporting time tracking, payroll, or workforce management systems (e.g., MyTime, Kronos, Workforce) is a major plus.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Service Hub.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn under the mentorship of a senior system expert.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate
Provide daily application support for MyTime, triaging and resolving incident tickets through Service Hub or ServiceNow.Perform SQL-based troubleshooting and support ongoing migration from SQL Server (on-prem) to Oracle Cloud.Develop or modify JavaScript-based business rules and policies within MyTime for union and business process changes.Partner with senior analysts to test and validate new system configurations, integrations, and enhancements.Participate in system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases during the MyTime upgrade.Collaborate closely with business users, HR partners, and vendors to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.Document processes, solutions, and incident resolutions for long-term system stability.Support occasional after-hours or on-call coverage during payroll runs or key deployments (rotation-based).Contribute to long-term modernization efforts, including future ETL and Workforce Hub enhancements post-migration.
