Telemetry RN Job Details

Location : Petersburg, Virginia 23805

Unit : Telemetry Neuro Unit (5W)

Healthcare Setting : 30-bed unit (flexes to 35 beds)

Shift : 12-hour nights; every other weekend / holiday required

Hours per week : 36

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 14 / 2026)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020

Travel Nurse Requirement : Must reside at least 50 miles from facility

Interview Type : ITO Interviews

Scrub Color : Navy blue, white, or any combination

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)

BLS certification (required)

NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (required)

At least 1 year of travel nursing experience (required)

Dysrhythmia exam (study guide available)

EPIC EHR experience preferred

ACLS, CCRN, PCCN certifications preferred

RN Telemetry Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans

Safely administer medications according to healthcare policies

Coordinate patient care and communicate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and families

Float to Medical-Surgical Telemetry units as needed

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (Monitor Tech support available)

Care for adult patients with CVA / TIA, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, diabetes, and other conditions

Collaborate with CNAs, sitters, and other clinical support staff

Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions and medical emergencies

Maintain professionalism, compassion, and resilience in a fast-paced healthcare environment
