Salary : $25 – $28 per hour
Location : Onsite only / San Diego, CA
GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Enrollment & Marketing, the Outreach & Marketing Coordinator focuses on building and strengthening relationships with community organizations, schools, industry partners, and prospective students to expand awareness of NewSchool of Architecture & Design. This role is central to creating and maintaining pipelines that connect students to educational opportunities while representing NewSchool in the community.
The Coordinator will also provide support for marketing initiatives to ensure that outreach activities are aligned with institutional branding and messaging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Develop, implement, and maintain outreach strategies to connect with community colleges, high schools, military institutions, and professional organizations.
- Represent NewSchool at outreach events, career fairs, and community programs to raise visibility and strengthen partnerships.
- Build long-term relationships with counselors, advisors, and community leaders to establish pipelines for prospective students.
- Coordinate visits, presentations, and workshops to share program information with external audiences.
Partnership Development
Collaborate with industry partners, nonprofits, and community organizations to develop mutually beneficial programs and initiatives.Maintain ongoing communication with external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities that support enrollment goals.Event Support
Coordinate and participate in on-campus and off-campus events such as open houses, student showcases, and community workshops.Ensure consistent branding and messaging across outreach events.Track attendance and outcomes for continuous improvement.Marketing & Communications Support
Assist in creating outreach materials (brochures, presentations, event flyers) to support engagement activities.Collaborate with the marketing team on digital campaigns that promote community events and highlight partnerships.Provide stories, testimonials, and outreach highlights to marketing for use in newsletters and social media.Reporting & Data Management
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partnerships, and event participation in the institution’s CRM or other designated system.Provide regular reports to track outreach effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Communications, Business, or a related field.2 years of outreach, community engagement, partnership development, or related experience.Strong public speaking, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (specific system training will be provided).Ability to represent the institution professionally in diverse settings.Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to balance multiple priorities.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with frequent travel to schools, community organizations, and events. Evening and weekend work may be required to support outreach activities. The role also includes standard office functions, including extended use of a computer.
