Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and document assembly processes for pouch cell manufacturing.
  • Work with equipment suppliers on proof-of-concept, pilot, and production scale equipment.
  • Travel for equipment FAT and follow-through to onsite SAT and ramp.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, sourcing and production teams to align development and equipment schedules with production, cell integration, and manufacturing.
  • Create, plan, and execute DOE's and experiments to understand the assembly processing space and improve the KPI's of the process. Using the production data you will troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Test and monitor equipment, conduct risk assessments, analyze process workflows, introduce process improvements, and maintain equipment.
  • Develop SOP's and specification requirements for pouch cell assembly.
  • Provide project status updates to upper management on current state of equipment, justify new equipment or equipment modifications, and the best strategic path forward for the company based on experiments and process knowledge.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Assist technical leaders with developing strategies for technical work, hiring, and budgets, ensuring alignment across technical groups.

Required Qualifications :

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years in a manufacturing environment; this includes the specifying, design review, and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with battery cell stacking, notching, and / or assembly equipment.
  • Proficient in CAD design, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
  • Experience leading high value projects and justifying new equipment needed to maintain production levels.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) as it relates to manufacturing processes along with knowledge of process capability (CPk).
  • Demonstrable track record of solving complex process engineering issues.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Be able to work in a lab standing up to 8 hours each day.
  • Compensations Range :

    The expected base salary range for this position is between

    $141,100.00 - $211,700.00

    The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and / or education, or particular skills and expertise.

    This compensation and benefits information is based on Lyten's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and / or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

    In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
