What Youll Do

• Assist with the design of the Electric Propulsion System (EPS) production system, including line layout, manufacturing processes and automation, installation, and overall battery production ramp planning for a new manufacturing facility
• Apply expert knowledge of Electric Motors and manufacturing processes to collaborate with and influence Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams in the development of a new EPS for an eVTOL aircraft
• Drive the Design for Manufacturability efforts with the product design team
• Determine requirements for automation, tools, stands, fixtures, etc.
• Develop the manufacturing Build Plan (line layout, manufacturing methods, part flow, tools, equipment, precedence network, etc.) and determine an appropriate MBOM
• Conduct process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) for the EPS production system
• Develop specifications for tooling and automation equipment
• Develop efficient manufacturing processes
• Oversee Final Acceptance Testing of manufacturing equipment
• Create / approve work instructions for Battery assembly and installation
• Support first unit builds and testing of the production system
• Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification
