Responsibilities

Manager Emergency Services

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ED Manager works in collaboration with the Director, works with Medical Staff and other departments to ensure coordination and integration of clinical processes to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Displays positive traits and qualities needed for a successful Manager and has the ability to work with changes in the environment and participate as a team player.

Serves as a role model for coordinating and integrating interdepartmental communication and resolution of issues. Performs daily operational responsibilities including ensuring staff scheduled to support census, department has supplies / equipment to care for patients.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining a high level of clinical expertise and adapts to new information, technology and changing trends in nursing practice.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties :

Attention to detail, high level of accuracy.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and function effectively with high volumes of patients.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must demonstrate good computer skills.

Solid understanding of English, grammar, and punctuation.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, BSA, circumference and volume.

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

• Minimum five years’ recent experience in an acute care Emergency Room setting required
• Minimum one year in a nursing manager or supervisor role required
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program required
• BSN preferred
• Registered Nurse with current California RN licenseCurrent BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certificationn
• CEN / CCRN encouraged
• CPI or NCI certification within 90 days of hire
