Job Description
ABOUT US :
At Neighborhood, community health is about more than just vaccines and checkups — it's about helping people live their healthiest, happiest lives. As a Medical Assistant extern, you'll be part of that mission. Neighborhood Healthcare is a private, non-profit community health organization that serves more than 100,000 patients every year through over 500,000 medical, dental, and behavioral health visits. Since 1969, we've been committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to everyone — no matter their background or circumstance.
Our vision is simple : a community where everyone is healthy and happy. We live by our values — compassion, integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and going above and beyond. If you're looking for a meaningful externship experience where you can grow, make real connections, and contribute to something bigger, we’d love to have you on this journey. At Neighborhood, we are Better Together.
ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE :
Neighborhood Healthcare offers clinical rotation opportunities for students actively enrolled in an LVN program. LVN rotations provide a hands-on learning experience under the guidance of one of our experienced providers (preceptors). Students will have the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while gaining exposure to community health.
Please note : LVN rotation opportunities are only available to students from schools where Neighborhood Healthcare has an active affiliation agreement. We are unable to accommodate students from schools without such agreements. Applying does not guarantee placement, as rotations depend on provider availability and acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participate in LVN rotations under the direct supervision of an assigned registered nurse
- Engage in patient care activities as directed by your program requirements and preceptor guidance
- Develop clinical skills, including patient interaction, case documentation, and care coordination
- Adhere to Neighborhood Healthcare’s standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and patient care
REQUIREMENTS :
